Row80 Update and Reading News

So, today I didn't actually get any writing done, but I did go over First Draft in 30 Days. I printed up the worksheets, as well as getting  Liquid Story Binder in tune. I can't wait to get started. It may be just what I need. Tomorrow, or maybe after this post, I will write, and write, and write! I hope everyone is able to fulfill there goals. Remember that you can always tweak them if necessary. Keep up the great work. :)

I have some new reading materials that came in. First, my Writers Digest came in! It's great coming home and finding sitting on my kitchen table waiting for me. Interview with Nicholas Sparks made the cover, and I look forward to reading it. I love his works, but I don't like that he doesn't embrace the romance aspect of his books. Hell, even Stephen King is a member of the RWA.

Speaking of The King, I joined The Stephen King Library last week, and received my first shipment of books on Saturday. I just finished his book On Writing, and I have never loved a book so much in my life. He stays honest throughout, and I felt that I was able to get to know him, at least on some level. I will take his advice to heart, and will read that book over and over.

Back to the delivery. :) The first in the series is Full Dark, No Stars, and I'm reading that one now. It's a compilation, and I'm still on the first story, and woh!! I had the option to add on a book for $4.99, so naturally I had no choice but to do so. I chose Under the Dome. I can't wait to begin.

Well, I have checked in and updated. (I at least accomplished that goal!) I think that I will just wait until tomorrow to write, for I can't keep from yawning. Have a wonderful night.

  1. Good luck writing, and writing, and writing. ;)

I think I'm the only person on the planet who didn't enjoy On Writing at all. *Feels weird*

Full Dark, No Stars has me very interested though - I've heard so many great things about it.

    Good luck this week.

  2. Thank you!

I'm sure that you're not the only one who disliked On Writing. As for feeling weird, you should! No, just kidding, lol!

I'm reading the first story, 1922, and when things start to move, boy do they, lol.

Good luck to you too :)

  3. I've been working my way through Stephen King's books, starting with Carrie. He's really the master of the slow build and it always leads to a fantastic climax.

Hope you're able to get some writing done by the next update.

  4. Ah...I received my Writer's Digest this past week too. I also have a subscription to The Writer. I like both of them, lots of great stories and info.
I am always looking forward to the writing prompts in the Writer's Digest.

When it comes to Steven King, I have to say my favorite one was The Stand.

    Good Luck with the outline.

  5. I have that Stephen King book loaded onto my Kindle, have had it recommended many times, but just haven't gotten around to it. Soon, though soon. Any-way good luck with those goals. I love the look of your blog, BTW, and had to check out one of the blog building tools you listed. Cheers.

  6. Although I can't use First Draft in 30 Days or books like it for my first draft, I think those types books are way cool to organize a novel. I have that one and BOOK IN A MONTH. Of course, it takes me longer than thirty days. :)

  7. Good luck with the dive into writing :)
I don't get the Writer's Digest magazine, but my shelves are stocked with their books. Their Howdunit series is addictive :)

  8. Good luck with all your writing! That Stephen King Library is hilarious - like Columbia House in the good old days, but all devoted to Stephen King - wow. Unfortunately, I have a lot of his books already, but boy, it'd make a great gift!
